Data and biospecimens from the Rancho Bernardo Study of Healthy Aging, a longitudinal cohort study that has followed participants with 11 clinic research visits and 32 mailers over a 45-year period, are available for research use. Archived data include detailed longitudinal assessment of multiple health measures and outcomes; repeat assessments of health behaviors and cognitive, sensory and physical function; measurements of a large variety of biomarkers; and ICD9 coded mortality data. In addition, a limited biorepository of longitudinal serum, plasma and urine samples, with whole blood for a subset of participants, is available to UC San Diego researchers. Investigators can learn more about the data archive and biorepository, and solicit access to the biospecimens, using the online request form.
