It is well-suited for undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career or graduate work that involves working directly with populations to improve health behaviors.
The Master of Public Health (MPH) degree at UC San Diego provides instruction in the core public health disciplines, and collaborates with departments across campus to address key aspects of 21st century public health, including climate change and data science.
The concentration in health behavior consists of additional coursework in the following areas: health behavior interventions, program optimization and evaluation, ethics in public health research and practice, health promotion and communication, and mental health, health behavior and addiction.
Doctoral students in the health behavior track will gain advanced skills in behavior change theories and strategies for population application, qualitative and quantitative research methods, and the application of interventions and research methods to improve health behavior in disenfranchised populations.
